Build A Man: Marvin Gaye

Ok so Build A Man is a topic I'm going to use to post some of the traits that I would like in a MAN lol. As I walk on this yellow brick road, I come across different men that embody different characteristics/traits, physical/emotional/intellectual/spiritual/etc.... that I would like to put in a jar shake up and 'build a man' for me.

Call me crazy O_o but it helps me meander through these 'men' that don't embody that of a MAN. Gives me a wee bit of hope, and keeps me from settling.

whenever I come across any of these amazing men (in my mind, on my ipod, on the screen, in person, in my dreams (fictional created beings that I name) ) I will post something of them (song, movie clip, description, picture)

So without further ado my first feature of Build A Man is...........................................

He is (was R.I.H) so alluring and honest and bravely vulnerable smh............and he's from D.C. (-; ....DC wad up!!

Song that currently has me hypnotized:

iKim: "Airtight's Revenge"

Well well well.......I am so overfilled with joy to let you know that BILAL's new album 'Airtight's Revenge' is available today =D. I have sampled some of the songs. I love them all. It is definitely well worth every cent. Bilal's voice is so electric and erotic, my ears just cannot resist.

This album has been so well anticipated. So happy for this day =D

And of course I am feeling this album artwork. A take on my husband in another life's picture, Malcolm X aka El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz.

Now if you don't think this is sexy I don't know what to tell you. Bilal is genius for this. Of course there is a method to the madness (genius) and that is "By any means necessary." Respect! I look forward to serenading my ears with each track over and over and over again.

Thank you Bilal :-)

Rest In Heaven Tupac

Moment of silence......................................................................................................................................

Here in remembrance of his life I have a lost VIBE interview. I love this man so much. All the passion and vigor ....I just can't get enough. I miss him still and every time I watch an interview I just grin from ear to ear in awe of his greatness. Definitely a truly rare Legend. He was more than just a rapper, he was a movement all within himself. Every time he spoke I didn't just hear what he was saying, I felt it. And what I feel is full of substance. That's how powerful, passionate and avid his delivery was when he spoke. Even just in conversation. Honesty so raw, I could never be mad at it, even if I didn't agree. (Best friend in my mind)

Enjoy :-)

You tell'em boo

*side note* Kanye West and his passion reminds me of Tupac just a smidgen, like a tad bit...don't get gassed lol

VMA's 2010

OK (clears voice) this is my take

1. I didn't think I could respect or admire Kanye West any more than what I already did but............ He was A.MAZ.ING!!! From the stage set, to the LOUD simplicity (the red suit, white stage set, one man, one little beat machine..............I'm sure there was some kind of profound meaning knowing him as a VISIONARY and a CHOREOGRAPHER. I felt it.) It was an epic moment listening to the crowd chant his name. Pusha T gave me life with his appearance and most importantly the Got.Dam.Ballerinas. (let me get a hand clap for DANCE) I love love love (in my Donny Hathaway voice) the amazing respect that Dance is getting (side note: dance is now considered an official sport now.....hand clap).

2. The stage set was A.MAZ.IMG!!! That set could have had a performance all by itself and I would have been entertains.

3. I love the over all classic feel of the show. Drake looked quite dapper. what tipped his performance off for me was of course Miss Mary J. Blige. HU STAND UP! #GoBison

4. I am a new fan of Florence and the Machine. I appreciate the artistry and the vocal talent was so crystal clear. Oh and let me not forget the dancing in that performance. A.MAZ.ING!!! I believe Travis Wall choreographed that piece. A huge Congrats to him for that. (can I get another hand clap for dance).

5. Usher's performance was good lol. That stage set was EVERYTHING though. The choreography for this piece was on point as well (can I get just another hand clap for dance) but, Mr. Raymond is not the spring chicken that he use to be and it showed. (real shit, yellow bricks)

6. Lincoln Park was on point. Their performance was very powerful. I felt all of that energy they brought to the stage through my television.

7. I'm happy Miss Taylor Swift got her time to shine. I like the lyrical content in the song.

PAUSE..............................................................................................................................

Throughout the entire show I had my fingers crossed for a surprise performance from Janelle Monae =/ I was wishing on a star. lol

PLAY

8. Justin Beiber's performance was good. I loved that the Jabba Wockeez performed along with him (ok just one more hand clap for dance). There was a lot of MJ inspired choreography. I loved that Justin played the drums for us.

9. Eminem's performance was pretty good. The stage set was on point (red flames). I loved how Rihanna appeared and performed. She tried to convince us of her vocal talents. She sounded pretty good.

10. Congrats to Lady GaGa on racking up at this award show. She deserves them all. I love her humility and gratitude.

11. Cher's body is siiiiiiiiiiiiick. I believe she's like 60 or something. That's crazy

12. Congrats to Lauri-Ann Gibson @Boomkack for winning "Best Choreography" (ok so I lied lol I need another hand clap for dance).

13. Men in tailored suits just turn me on.

14. I did not like Ciara singing Nelly Furtado's hook to N.E.R.D's "Hot-N-Fun". =0/

15. Technology is just sky rocketing.

16. Sofia Vergara gave me life with her appearance. Love her.

17. Enjoyed seeing and hearing Kid Cudi (commercials)

18. I was hoping for some sassy energy to perform. (wishing on a star)

19. Nicki Minaj is always entertaining. She shocked me though. I was pleasantly surprised with her moves. I appreciated her dancers as well (pick me, pick me). Will.I.Am in his 'all black everything' idk.

20. To conclude, ALL MY DANCER HONEY BUNNIES .....WE WIN (-;

Curiousity Killed The Cat

As the saying goes, being too curious can often be dangerous. Some things should maybe just go unknown.

A lesson that came upon me tonight.

Thank goodness felines have nine lives ;-)

iKim: Willow Smith.............Whip My Hair

I am in love with this song. Can't stop playing it. It instantly puts me in a "pump struttin, hair flingin" mood.
Happy for her new deal with Roc Nation. I look forward to hearing more from her. To all the DJ's out there, you need to retire if you're not spinning this in the club. #imjustsaying

iKim: JoJo........ In The Dark

Loving JoJo's new song/video, In The Dark of her latest project, Can't That Away From Me Mixtape. Glad she's back on the scene

Listen and love thanx!!
JoJo – Can't Take That Away From Me by Hypetrak

"So You Think I'm Alone"

This song speaks a lot that I see and feel lately. I listen to this song at least once a day because I'm reminded everyday. This clairvoyance that I've tapped into is forcing me to SEE that it is indeed a "cold war". Happy to know I'm not alone in that truth. Through this walk these naive blinders break and shed and I see what's really hood in this world.

When I first heard this song and listened to what she's saying. I got misty. Glad to see I wasn't the only one. This is such a sad reality for so many reasons.

Must keep that armor on THICK =/

Of course this is my FAVORITE song off of her album ArchAndroid.  If you ain't on it, get on it
