Stuck: 'For Colored Girls'
So it's been a while since my last post. I went to see 'For Colored Girls' and it's just had me stuck for a few days. It was way more than I had ever imagined. Tyler is undoubtedly timeless for this piece. This will definitely be a literary piece in education.
So I cried like the emotional being that I am (yay for that......... the power to feel). Every Black female in the world should be ordered to witness this masterpiece brought to life.
I applaud each and every actress (and actor) who partook in this. Everyone played their part so well.
I've been trying to find the words to express simply the way I feel about this movie and I keep getting stuck. I was just touched on so many levels (I'm tearing as I type now smdh). It was very therapeutic. And I'm so thankful to have witnessed such greatness.
I'm proud to be who/what I am. This movie has just forced me to be a better me. I pray that my light shines bright enough in the right way to influence and inspire someone to be a better them.

iWatch: 'For Colored Girls'
So I'm anxiously awaiting this movie premiere. I believe this film will be Tyler Perry's greatest work yet.
The film is based on the famous play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf by Ntozake Shange (1975). It's comprised of a series of 20 poems that tell a story of love, abandonment, rape, domestic violence, abortion etc... Each situation is symbolized by a color.

This movie is packed with an amazing cast of men and women alike: Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Kimberly Elise, Michael Ealy, Kerry Washington, Omari Hardwick, Thandie Newton, Loretta Devine, Macy Gray, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Anika Noni Rose, Khalil Kain, Tessa Thompson, Richard Lawson
Along with Thandie Newton and Tyler Perry, Ms. Janet Jackson (my wife in my soul..........no I'm no gay and yes she's my wife lol yes that happens on My Yellow Brick Road) is doing appearances to promote this movie. Earlier today she was on Good Morning America interviewing with the em-famous Robin

I already know I'm going to be in the theater on November 5th (my Nana's Bornday R.I.H and yes my family is making an event out of this day for so many reasons) in tears lol happy tears, sad tears, reflecting tears, growth tears, all liquid prayers so don't worry ;-)
