Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest
This trailer solidifies that it will come out. I was worried for a minute
Dark Girls
I still get the "you're so pretty for a dark skinned girl". Happy for the loud awareness. I hope this helps our community to unhook these slave chains. We must first be aware.

Peep #14 Rolling Hills at the 7:43 mark ............. let me go'n and let you "find before you seek"
"More expensive than money/more valuable than anything......... there's power in them rolling hills/you're a prized possession not everybody's worthy/only reason I know/cus I headed down that road/and it'd be a shame not to have your own glow"
I just wanna scream this over and over and over and over and over and over and over AGAIN. Yall are luck I don't have the gift of voice lol. This was a great show.
No dim lights round these parts ;-)
p.s. Ms. Scott will also be releasing even more music from her former label Hidden Beach: Just Before Dawn: From The Vault also due out this summer #POW I'm hype
Miss these chix dearly =/. I've been rockin to these 2 albums steady for the past 3 weeks #TIMELESS. I'd really love to hear some new material from them esp T-Boz. *wishing on a star*
I was hypnotized then captivated and now I have been seduced by this masterpiece of a video looking like a 1 dimensional motion picture. From the cast to the features and the suspense omg ......... can you say quality!
From his album The Lady Killer brace yourself for the best track off of that piece (In my opinion) in visual form:
I can't wait for what's to come (on the edge of my seat....... job very well done)
Applause for director Mikael Colombu (genius)
This song screams my being when I'm out and about.
On any given night
Catch me on the floor
Working up a sweat
That's what music's for
I'd rather not explain
For me, it's just usual
(You can really pop it now, drop it now, ain't no stopping now, are you watching now?)
Once I get going I am gone
(You can really pop it now, drop it now, ain't no stopping now, are you watching now?)
I'll keep it going all night long
You know I feel it in my heartbeat
It may feel old to you, but to me it feels new
You know I feel it in my heartbeat
Don't you know, can't you see
When I dance, I feel free
Which makes me feel like the only one (the only one)
That the light shines on
This complicated life
I try to do my best
I always tell myself
It's all just a test
For me it's an escape
Cause dancing makes me feel beautiful
(And I can't pretend, it should never end, let the music play, are you watching now?)
Once I am moving, I'm alright
(You can really pop it now, it should never end, let the music play, cause I'm here to stay)
I'll keep on dancing through the night
You know I feel it in my heartbeat
It may feel old to you, but to me it feels new
You know I feel it in my heartbeat
Don't you know, can't you see
When I dance, I feel free
Which makes me feel like the only one (the only one)
That the light shines on
See my booty get down, right
See my booty get down, right
See my booty get down, right
See my booty get down, right
Uh uh, get down
Uh uh, get down
See my booty get down, right
You probably think I'm crazy
I don't want you to save me
Don't mean to disappoint you
I've never felt so free
If you could stand in my shoes
Then you would feel my heartbeat too
I wish they would play this in the club. It's like an ode to my club dancer. This is exactly how she feels.
Here's my little recap on the show last night, it may be a choppy recap because there was a lot on TV last night; RHOA, and Nicki Minaj had her documentary on MTV so bare with me.
1. R. Kelly is a musical beast. I wish he could have done more of his throwback jams. Oh and he ended with a stage full of dancers ;-)
2. Ne-yo's performance was eehhhhhhhhhh ok. His chorus dancers or the choreography was extra mediocre =/ and those chicks didn't have on any spanks O_o. (What the hell kind of performer are you -_-)
3. The Anita Baker Tribute!!!!! Highlight of the show to me.
"Soul music to me is the truth" and her influences are
Mahalia Jackson
Sarah Vaughn
So many amazing voices serenaded the room in her honor (I'm trying to find the vid)
Goapele, and El DeBarge also sang in tribute to her. Anita got up during El's performance and got us all excited anticipating her to take the mic ...................ehhh not she just did a little two step lol.
4. I want to Congratulate the award virgins of the night, Melonie Fiona and Bruno Mars. It's about damn time for Melonie especially for her song 'It Kills Me' the lyrical content alone is as real as it gets. Bruno's acceptance speech was so cute.
5. Kim Fields was tryna get her sexy lioness on =/ lol
lol she looks good though.
6. Janelle Monae was radiant as always. She's such a beauty. She won an award as well
"Embrace the things that make you unique and use them as your super powers"
*did yall see Ms. Badu's ole chunky butt lol. that's what good food and good loving will get you right there*
7. The Ron Isley Tribute. Another highlight for me.
Favorite part of that tribute was seeing Bilal perform and Chante Moore, Ron, and R Kelly's skit.
Ron's wife is cute but she ain't got nothin on Angela Winbush
I'm just saying =/ (HU! Go Bison)
8. Oh and Taraji and Terrence seemed to have had them a koontastic time lol
I love me some Taraji wit her DC ass (HU!!!! Go Bison) and Terrence just melts my heart at glance ;-)
9. Seeing Chante Moore and Jessie Boykins III made my heart smile and the rest was pretty much a blur =/ The dancing let me down honestly I wish I could have casted and choreographed.
Cee-lo Green of the beloved Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley recently released his album 'The Lady Killer'
I haven't gotten the chance to really listen to this yet but I say cop that just because we all know that he's a mad scientist when it comes to music. (And if you didn't know, Congratulations now you know (-; ).
This is the second video off of the album 'Bright Lights, Bigger City'
p.s. I can't wait for the upcoming Gnarls Barkley Album =D
I already gave you guys my thoughts on this little supa star in a previous post. I love the entire theme. She is just too cute. I think I saw her brother Jaden in the video too. He had all the moves lol. I look forward to hearing more from this young starlette......scratching for a new single
smh In love. She's so humble and mature. I can't take it lol
Ok so I know I'm late but..............................................
I really didn't get to fully watch the entire show. Maybe I have ADD but I just couldn't keep focus lol. Seriously. But from what I did get to see, this was the highlight for me:
Well well well, I am very happy to announce that His Royal Purpleness (Prince) will be touring very soon. Some time in December on a "purple day" will start the Coming to America Tour. He advised the audience to "bring foot spray, cause it's gonna be funky". =D I love it.
Just a little added bonus......................Janelle Monae will be accompanying him on tour. (sike...thats pretty damn huge).
New Edition, Cassandra Wilson, and Maceo Parker will also be joining the tour
Here is his new song "Rich Friends".....what do you think??
Well well well.......I am so overfilled with joy to let you know that BILAL's new album 'Airtight's Revenge' is available today =D. I have sampled some of the songs. I love them all. It is definitely well worth every cent. Bilal's voice is so electric and erotic, my ears just cannot resist.
This album has been so well anticipated. So happy for this day =D
And of course I am feeling this album artwork. A take on my husband in another life's picture, Malcolm X aka El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz.
Now if you don't think this is sexy I don't know what to tell you. Bilal is genius for this. Of course there is a method to the madness (genius) and that is "By any means necessary." Respect! I look forward to serenading my ears with each track over and over and over again.
I am in love with this song. Can't stop playing it. It instantly puts me in a "pump struttin, hair flingin" mood.
Happy for her new deal with Roc Nation. I look forward to hearing more from her. To all the DJ's out there, you need to retire if you're not spinning this in the club. #imjustsaying
